YOUR FEET WILL THANK YOU
That one time in Vegas…
Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate. It’s a chemical compound made up of magnesium (a laxative), sulfur (an antibacterial) and oxygen- aka something I don’t know too much about but saved my tired soles after a 3 day bender walking the strip in Las Vegas one time. When it is dissolved in water, the particles are absorbed through your skin providing you with the benefits of magnesium and sulfates- related to better sleep, stress management, relieves constipation, reduce pain and swelling (great during menstruation), relives muscle cramping and stiffness. The sulfur component helps your skin shed dead skin cells which can help cleanse your skin from plugged pores and acne.
DIY FRESH BATH SALT RECIPE CARD:
•Epsom Salt
•Glass jar (preferable Amber or Blue)
•Essential Oils (I like to use lemon & lime for a good morning pick me up, but lavender is a great one for kiddos before bed, peppermint is good for after workouts, eucalyptus works magic on sinus & chest congestion)
-Fill your jar with epsom salt & drop 25 drops of your favorite essential oil to it.
-Shake it up & ENJOY!
HOW TO USE:
To do this, add 1 cup of Epsom salt to the water in a standard-sized bathtub and soak your body for at least 15 minutes.
NOTE: I don’t always have time for a bath, but take a little plastic tote and place at the bottom of the shower. Dump the salt mix in with a little warm water. Throughout your shower, the tub will start to fill and possibly overflow but at least you still get that nice absorption through your feet!
DISCLAIMER:
I am not an oil guru or distributor of them, please do your research on what oils are safe to use directly on the skin. Some oils will have a hot or cold factor that could possibly burn your skin without a carrier oil- which won’t work in the recipe.
